1. Overview of Driving School Services & Course Offerings
Aqeel Driving School provides comprehensive driver education services tailored to meet the diverse needs of our students. Our offerings include comprehensive in-class instruction, interactive online learning modules, and extensive in-car training hours. We specialize in providing Ministry of Transportation (MTO) approved Beginner Driver Education (BDE) courses that are meticulously designed to prepare students for a lifetime of safe, confident, and responsible driving on Ontario's roads. Additional services include specialized highway training, winter condition training, and refresher courses for experienced drivers looking to update their skills.
Upon successful completion of the MTO-approved BDE course, students will be certified through the MTO database, which may make them eligible for a reduction in their mandatory G1 waiting period and potential insurance discounts. Certification requires the successful completion of all course components, including passing required tests and evaluations with minimum standard grades.
2. Payment Terms, Fees, & Financial Obligations
- Registration & Deposits: To secure a spot in any of our courses, a non-refundable deposit is required at the time of registration. This deposit guarantees your placement and initiates the creation of your student profile.
- Full Payment Timelines: Full payment for all enrolled courses and training packages must be completed prior to the issuance of any MTO certification or before the final in-car lesson is conducted. Aqeel Driving School reserves the right to withhold certification if account balances remain unsettled.
- Additional Fees: Students may be subject to additional fees for extra services requested outside the standard course curriculum, including but not limited to, additional practice hours, vehicle rental for road tests, and administrative fees for extensive schedule changes or document replacements.
3. Cancellation Policies & Refund Eligibility
- Refunds: Refund eligibility is determined by the timeline of cancellation and the volume of services already rendered. Requests for refunds must be submitted in writing. Approved refunds will be processed in strict adherence to the Ontario Consumer Protection Act. Administrative fees may be deducted from the refunded amount.
- Cancellations & No-Shows: A minimum of 48 hours' notice is required for cancelling or rescheduling any in-car training session. Failure to provide sufficient notice, or failing to appear for a scheduled lesson, will result in a late cancellation or no-show fee. This policy ensures that our instructors' schedules are respected and allows other students the opportunity to utilize available time slots.
- Course Expiry: BDE courses must be completed within the timeframe mandated by the MTO (typically 12 months from the start date). Failure to complete the course within this timeframe may result in forfeiture of the course fees, and the student may be required to re-register and pay applicable fees to continue.
4. Student Responsibilities & Code of Conduct
- Licensing Requirements: Students are legally required to possess and physically carry a valid Ontario Driver's Licence (e.g., G1, G2, or valid foreign equivalent approved by the MTO) at all times during any in-car instruction. Failure to present a valid licence at the start of a lesson will result in immediate cancellation of the lesson and applicable no-show fees.
- Zero-Tolerance Policy: Aqeel Driving School strictly enforces a zero-tolerance policy for the use or influence of drugs, alcohol, or any form of impaired driving. If an instructor suspects impairment, the lesson will be immediately terminated, the authorities may be notified, and the student will be permanently expelled from the school without a refund.
- Behavioral Expectations: Students are expected to maintain respectful, courteous, and professional behavior towards instructors, administrative staff, and fellow students. Harassment, verbal abuse, or aggressive behavior will not be tolerated and may lead to immediate dismissal from the program.
- Medical Conditions: Students must disclose any medical conditions, physical limitations, or prescribed medications that may affect their ability to safely operate a motor vehicle prior to the commencement of training.
5. Instructor Responsibilities & Vehicle Standards
Our commitment to your safety, education, and peace of mind includes:
- Vehicle Maintenance: Providing dual-controlled, rigorously inspected, and fully insured vehicles for all in-car training sessions. Our fleet is maintained to the highest safety standards to ensure reliable and secure operation.
- Professional Instructors: Employing only highly qualified, fully licensed, and Ministry of Transportation (MTO) certified driving instructors who undergo continuous professional development and background checks.
- Constructive Feedback: Instructors are committed to providing objective, constructive, and ongoing feedback regarding student progress, ensuring that learning objectives are met efficiently.
6. Use of Driving School Vehicles for Road Tests
- Booking the Vehicle: Students may arrange to rent an instructor's vehicle for the DriveTest practical exam. This service is subject to vehicle and instructor availability and involves applicable rental fees which must be paid in advance.
- Instructor Discretion & Safety: The driving school and its instructors reserve the absolute right to refuse the use of their vehicle for a road test if, in the professional opinion of the instructor, the student is deemed unsafe, unprepared, or lacking the necessary skills to operate the vehicle safely during the exam. This policy is in place to protect the student, the examiner, and the general public.
- Logistics: If renting the vehicle, the instructor will typically provide a warm-up lesson immediately preceding the road test and will wait at the test center for the duration of the exam.
