Full G
Classification
The full G licence is Ontario's highest driving classification — granting unrestricted driving privileges. Here is everything you need to know about the G exit test and what it unlocks.
Your Driving Journey Complete
After holding a G2 for a minimum of 12 months, Ontario drivers can take the G exit road test to earn their full G licence. This test includes a mandatory highway component and evaluates advanced driving skills. Our preparation programme ensures you enter the test with absolute confidence.
What the G Test Covers
G2 Holding Period
You must hold your G2 for at least 12 months before booking the G exit test. There is no BDE shortcut for this phase — the full year of independent driving experience is mandatory.
Highway Component
Unlike the G1 exit test, the G exit test includes mandatory 400-series highway driving, evaluating your ability to merge at speed, maintain highway following distances, and execute safe lane changes at 100+ km/h.
Advanced Skills Assessed
The examiner evaluates parallel parking, three-point turns, emergency stops, and complex intersection navigation — all at a higher standard than the G1 exit, reflecting your years of licensed experience.
Full G Benefits
A full G licence removes all BAC and passenger restrictions, qualifies you for lower insurance premiums, opens eligibility for commercial endorsements, and never requires an exit road test again.
