Privacy Policy
1. Commitment to Privacy & Regulatory Compliance
At Aqeel Driving School, we recognize that your privacy is of the utmost importance. We are explicitly committed to protecting your personal information and handling it with the highest standards of care and transparency. Our operations, data collection methodologies, and storage protocols are designed to be in full compliance with Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and all applicable Ontario provincial privacy regulations.
2. Comprehensive Scope of Personal Data Collected
In order to provide our professional driving instruction services, facilitate communication, and meet legal requirements, we must collect necessary personal information. This data is collected directly from you when you register, book a service, or communicate with our administrative team.
The information we collect may include, but is not limited to:
- Contact Information: Full legal name, active telephone numbers, primary email address, and physical residential/mailing address.
- Licensing Data: Ontario driver's licence number, date of issue, expiry date, and current licensing class (e.g., G1, G2).
- Financial Data: Secure payment details, credit card information (processed securely via third-party gateways), and billing history.
- Educational Data: Records of in-car training hours, online module completion status, instructor evaluation notes, and mock test scores.
3. Exact Purpose & Utilization of Data Collection
We strictly limit the use of your personal information to the purposes for which it was collected. The data we gather is used exclusively for the following operational and regulatory purposes:
- Administration: Processing student registrations, creating detailed student profiles, and managing account statuses.
- Scheduling: Organizing, scheduling, and optimizing in-car lessons, mock road tests, and classroom/online learning modules.
- Financial Transactions: Processing secure payments, managing invoicing, issuing receipts, and handling account billing.
- Certification: Verifying course requirements have been met and subsequently issuing official course completion certificates.
- Regulatory Reporting: Directly reporting completed Beginner Driver Education (BDE) courses to the Ministry of Transportation (MTO) database and official driver certification portals, which is a stringent legal requirement for the issuance of certificates.
4. Data Non-Disclosure, Non-Sale & Security Guarantee
We believe your data is yours. We implement uncompromising policies to protect it from unauthorized exploitation.
- Zero Data Selling: We provide an absolute, strict guarantee that your personal data will NEVER be sold, rented, leased, or traded to third parties, data brokers, or advertisers under any circumstances.
- Security Protocols: We employ robust security measures to protect against data leakage, theft, and unauthorized access. This includes the use of secure SSL encryption for data transmission, stringent internal access controls limiting data visibility to authorized staff only, and advanced firewall protocols on our servers.
- Authorized Sharing: Any third-party data sharing is strictly and narrowly limited to authorized service providers necessary for our core operations (e.g., PCI-compliant payment gateways) and regulatory bodies (e.g., the MTO) where legally mandated.
5. Data Retention Periods
We retain your personal information only for as long as is necessary to fulfill the purposes for which it was collected, or as required to comply with applicable legal, tax, or regulatory obligations. For instance, the MTO requires driving schools to maintain detailed student records for a specific number of years following course completion. Once this mandatory retention period expires, your personal data will be securely deleted or anonymized.
6. Student & User Privacy Rights
Under PIPEDA, you retain full and comprehensive rights over your personal data. You have the right to:
- Request detailed access to the personal information we hold about you.
- Request immediate corrections to any inaccuracies or incomplete data in your profile.
- Withdraw your consent for further data processing (Please note: withdrawing consent may impede our ability to provide services and is subject to legal/MTO record-keeping mandates that may legally require data retention despite withdrawal requests).
For any privacy-related inquiries, requests for data access, or to voice concerns regarding this policy, please contact our designated Privacy Officer through our official contact channels.
